the story of pinc so far

Here at Alsager we're a Business and Enterprise College....one of our jobs is to interest our pupils in enterprise .

Most people think that enterprise is about making money - it's not. It's about having ideas and making things happen.

We wanted to find a lively way of establishing a enterprise culture.  After lots of false starts we came upon the idea of PINC

PINC stands for:

Note the text speak - we want PINC to be fun and contemporary as well as educational.

We started in 2006 with a PINC week for years 7-9.  There were no lessons for three days....everyone did innov8tive things....everything from korfball to samba dancing.  It was a great success....for teachers too - they shared a fantastic time where they worked with pupils in completely different ways and built new relationships.

Success bred success.  We formed a PINC group of teachers to gener8 more PINC ideas.  They came up with mini PINC weeks themed around the four key words.  They wanted to be enterprising but they also wanted the weeks to have a different ‘feel' so that pupils had an exhiler8ing break from the usual curriculum whilst still learning.

‘ Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bow lines, sail away from the safe harbour.
Explore. Dream. Discover'
